Personal Bio

Katie Jeffrey-Lunn is a registered dietitian who graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Sociology from Fairfield University where she played Division I field hockey. She worked for over two years at the Pfizer, Inc. corporate fitness center where she taught exercise group classes and assisted the Wellness manager, a registered dietitian, and the Sports and Recreation Manager.

Katie returned to school to pursue her career goals of nutrition, wellness and physical activity. She earned her Masters Degree in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Connecticut and completed her dietetic internship at Saint Joseph College in Hartford, Connecticut. She owns her own business, FitNutrition, LLC in Mystic, CT. She enjoys individual and sports nutrition counseling, and giving educational nutrition presentations to athletes, students and adults.

Katie is member of the American Dietetic Association, the Connecticut Dietetic Association, SCAN (Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutritionists), NE (Nutrition Entrepreneurs Private Practice Specialty Group), NA (Nutrition Entrepreneurs Authors Specialty Group), and is a Certified Professional Food Manager.

Katie is passionate about working with all age groups to optimize health and promote physical activity. As the owner of FitNutrition, LLC she provides personal nutrition counseling, sport specific nutrition counseling, nutrition and health educational group sessions, corporate lunch and learn sessions, supermarket tours as well as presentations and workshops.

Katie enjoys one-to-one nutrition counseling, group sessions, teaching exercise classes, and providing educational workshops and presentations. She has provided sports nutrition presentations for high school and college athletes. These presentations included topics such as the importance of hydration and fluid selection, pre- and post-exercise meals and snacks, the importance of fueling and re-feuling the body before, during, and after exercise, basic nutrition, portion control and serving sizes. She has also provided additional nutrition presentations on healthy lunches/snacks for school-aged children, healthy holiday eating, basic nutrition, portion control and serving sizes, and healthy baking/cooking.
